Styling Pro-Tip: How To Build A Power Suit

This past weekend was a whirlwind. It was unusually busy and I fell off my blogging wagon. Monday is usually the day that most people hit the ground running after feeling relaxed and recharged from the weekend. But sometimes, Mondays are just the worst. Some times it takes a few days (i.e. by Wednesday) to get it together. What does one wear in the meantime? One’s power suit! Whenever I have a court date to attend with a client or when I have a mountain of paperwork to complete I always feel better in a well-crafted outfit. All you need are the following clothing items to create your very own power suit:
a crisp button down shirt (slim-cut preferably, in either white or light blue)
a pair of well-tailored trousers
a vest or form-fitting blazer (to add a sense of authority)
and a pair of wild flats (to add some kick-ass oomph to your day!)

But this does not have to cost a fortune to re-create for yourself. All of these items are thrifted with the exception of the flats from the Gap. (That I also got a huge discount at the Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach, Deleware!)

I even got treated to the most delicious Bloody Mary ever!Menswear-inspired outfit for work from Beyond BasicOutfit details: Vest, thrifted The Limited; Button-down shirt, thrifted H&M; Riding pants, thrifted Talbots; Flats, Gap. All photography c/o Hennpict Studios.
